blog #2

The average person looks at modern skyscrapers and probably thinks that today technological advances are responsible for the cranes that lift heavy objects into the air. Little do they know that studies about the ancient world helped us advance further in construction and in the arts. We can thank the ancient Egyptians, because the remains of their old society taught us that lack of modern technology did not stop them from giving birth to huge grandiose monuments. We can also thank them for papyrus scrolls. Which is writing paper they created from the papyrus plant.

The great pyramids are the perfect example. The Egyptians did not use slave workers to create these wonderful buildings. They used their own people who loved and worshiped they walking god and king the pharaoh. They used manual labor to push and drag big pieces of lime stones or cut stones across the hot desert. The Egyptian's process helps us today they used exact measurements to construct and build. The bases of their pyramids base were 90 degrees perfect angled squares. They also greatly used the canons of proportions when depicting their pharaohs and queens. They depicted their people with amazing accurate details. They had the head arms and legs in proportion to the whole body and did not exaggerate.

In conclusion the Egyptian's are very important and relevant today. they help us travel back in time to learn about their culture and to learn more about how we have evolved as a society as a whole. They also have inspired many artist in they work.
